Global Affairs Canada (GAC) is conducting a review of Canada’s approach to international development assistance. Internet Society Canada Chapter (ISCC) wants to ensure that Internet access will be a significant area of focus for Canada’s international assistance efforts going forward after this consultation is completed. Accordingly, we are inviting you participate in an ISCC-led stakeholder discussion on the kinds of policies and programs that Canada should pursue to promote this objective.

The event will take place on Monday, July 18, 2016 between 1:00 PM and 4:00 PM Eastern Daylight Time at the offices of the Canadian Internet Registration Authority (CIRA) located at 979 Bank Street, Suite 400, Ottawa, Ontario. Those who cannot attend in person can participate by way of teleconference.

Please note that capacity for this event is limited and so only a limited number of attendees can be accommodated in person. If you wish to attend in person, please RSVP early so you will not be disappointed by registering using the following link: https://www.eventbrite.ca/e/internet-society-canada-chapter-event-tickets-26320648769. If you intend to participate by teleconference, please do not register and just link in via https://isoc.zoom.us/j/3653598230 on the day of the event.
The output of the discussion from this event will be converted into a bi-lingual submission that ISCC will file in the GAC consultation by the July 31, 2016 deadline.
