Alyssa is a champion of change in the Internet community. Passionate about the open Internet, she has centered her efforts largely in the non-profit arena to draw together teams and communities to tackle policy questions in complex technical environments.
In addition to being a tireless ambassador for the .CA top level domain, Alyssa’s role as Senior Policy & Advocacy Advisor at the Canadian Internet Registration Authority (CIRA) focuses on developing and implementing the organization’s advocacy strategy, monitoring domestic regulatory affairs and legislation, and participating in the activities of international Internet governance bodies such as ICANN and the IGF.
Prior to this, Alyssa worked as a Policy & Strategy Analyst at Cybera, Alberta’s non-profit research and education network. She currently serves on the board of the Montreal Internet Exchange (QIX), and the policy Advisory Council to the American Registry for Internet Numbers (ARIN). She holds a Bachelor of Arts in Political Science from Carleton University.
