In 2021, Canada and its allies saw an increase in ransomware attacks, which resulted in some of the highest ransoms and highest payouts ever seen. These trends point to a more sophisticated approach to cyber-attacks representing both security and economic risks to Canada and allied nations.
Two panel discussions took place on March 24, 2022 examining how G7 nations and other partners can work together to strengthen cyber security efforts and confront foreign interference amid rising global conflicts.
Our expert panels explored various existing policies such as Zero Trust frameworks, types of investments, resources, and partnerships needed to tackle evolving cybersecurity.
The event also featured opening remarks from U.S. Ambassador David L. Cohen, The Honourable Marco Mendicino, and a special message from Chief Clarence Louie.
Presented by the Internet Society – Canada Chapter with the support of Amazon Web Services (AWS) and the U.S. Embassy Ottawa.
